Introducing Rooted Fare x Woon’s Year of the Snake limited-edition flavor: Seaweed Sesame Cashew Butter!

Inspired by our shared experiences as Chinese Americans born and raised in LA and mutual love for traditional favorites with a twist! This spread is based on the salty sea moss snacks we loved growing up, featuring Woon’s Sea Moss Seasoning and freshly roasted white sesame. It’s salty, sweet, and nutty!

It’s delicious on its own off a spoon, but you can enjoy it on toast, oats, even noodles! Snag a jar on Rooted Fare’s website and at BOTH of Woon’s restaurant locations (Filipinotown and Pasadena) starting 1/19 while supplies last.

Woon & Rooted Fare Present Year Of The Snake Collection Launch Party 🐍 !!! This Thursday, January 23rd from 5-9pm we’ll be hosting our friends from Rooted Fare to celebrate the recent launch of our limited edition Seaweed Sesame Cashew Butter spread, made with Woon’s Sea Moss Seasoning.

Woon will be running two specials on our menu using the spread ~ Dan Dan Noodles + Cashew Butter Cookie Ice Cream Sandwich. Rooted Fare will be popping up and selling all 4 of their spread flavors!

100% of profits from our menu specials and Seaweed Sesame Cashew Butter jars will be donated to wildfire relief!

Pop Up @ Marta for Jacob Cummings Album Release Party

We’ll be popping up at Marta next Saturday, November 9th for the album release + video screening of our photo/video wizard and one of our first employees ever, Jacob Cummings. We’re so excited and proud of all the talented works he’s put out over the past 5 years and this album encapsulates all of it. You can pick up vinyl copies of the album and grab limited edition tees. We’ll be cooking up noodles and Madre Mezcal , June Shine, and Easy Rider will be providing the drinks, while @alba.collective will be spinning music all night. FREE & open to the public…RSVP if you wish.

Woon + Now Serving Present "Chinese Enough" Cookbook Pop Up

We teamed up with our friends and favorite cook book shop, Now Serving, once again to host a pop up featuring Kristina Cho’s new cookbook, Chinese Enough. The evening will feature four specials from the book, interpreted by us at Woon. Including a Shrimp Patty Bao, Scallion Pancake w/ Whipped Tofu, Sesame Gai Lan, and Black Bean Chow Mein.

Plus, Kristina Cho will be hanging out to meet everyone and Now Serving will be selling some books!! Don’t want to miss this one!

Parent & Me: Scallion Pancake Workshop

Join us for a Parent & Me food workshop at Woon! This class puts kids in the driver's seat, focusing on cooking basics, refining motor skills, and exploring the art of creating delicious, quality dishes. It’s a great way to introduce your little ones to new flavors and cultures through food! Connect as a family, meet new friends, and create memories over a shared meal that brings everyone together.

Led by Woon's Dough Lead, Jia Qi Juszczak, attendees will learn to make Woon's famous Scallion Pancakes—a traditional Chinese restaurant dish—from scratch! The class covers everything from mixing ingredients and rolling dough, to texture play, cutting, plating, and concludes with a family-style feast. Best suited for ages 2+, but all are welcome at a parent's discretion!

Ticket includes:

• Seating for 1 child & 1 adult (child-led, adult assist)

• Scallion Pancakes enjoyed family-style

• Woon x Playdate goodie bag

Suay + Woon Present Double Knee Party Weekend

Suay & Woon Present a Double-Knee Party on Saturday (5-9pm at Woon) + Sunday (12-5pm at Suay)!!

BRING any pair of pants you want to drop off and add a double knee to, or DIG through Suay’s vintage workwear stash to customize your own (choose from 10 different fabrics). PLUS shop Woon x Suay screen printed Workwear. We will be have an Orange Chicken Wings Special AT WOON ON SATURDAY, and hopping over to SUAY ON SUNDAY to serve Scallion Pancake Beef Wraps! They’ll also have $15 fill a bag thrift in the parking lot on Sunday.
