About this Event

Catchy and warm, indie pop trio Run River North makes feel-good music that embraces change. That’s likely because the band has been through its fair share of heavy changes. After an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live in 2012 that gave them international recognition, the group went briefly quiet. Then they changed their name, rebranded as a three-piece, and swapped their Fleet Foxes-eque folk sound for brighter arrangements with electric guitars and feel-good melodies.

Now Alex Hwang, Daniel Chae and Sally Kang live in LA and are making their best music ever as Run River North. Their 5-track EP, Monsters Calling Home, Vol. 1, came out earlier this year via Nettwerk Music Group, and is full of lush, colorful soundscapes and genre-busting arrangements. Since then they’ve released two singles, “Wake Up” and “OKAY COOL,” which are sunnier dance anthems from their upcoming EP, Monsters Calling Home, Vol. 2.

The group’s fun instrumentation combined with the relatable lyricism—“We ain’t got no money but we’ve got lots of time”—solidifies Run River North as an exciting and engaging live act.

Join us at Woon on November 18 for a dinner party celebrating 10 amazing years of music discovery with The Wild Honey Pie. Tickets include a special Shabu Shabu dinner, unlimited alcoholic kombucha and an intimate performance from the band set against a backdrop of the LA sunset.
