Photos • Pinkies Up x Woon Bake Sale Against Anti-Asian Violence

It has taken a couple of days to reflect on Sunday’s @pinkiesupla x Woon Bake Sale Against Anti-Asian Violence. It’s incredible how a simple idea and text from @emureee resulted in such amazing support from the community. We raised over $6500!!! But what goes even a longer way is the amount of awareness and attention this bake sale brought to the Asian American community.

We can’t thank the bakers enough for donating their time and goods to this cause. All of them agreed to do this without a flinch. It was so impactful to see all of their baked goods on one table for one cause, what a powerful lineup.

Thank you to every single person who came out to wait over 2.5 hours in a three block line. And thank you to those who couldn’t wait, but decided to just donate instead. LA showed the hell up on Sunday.

Thank you to all the volunteers who made this the most seamless event I’ve ever been involved with...they came and went straight to work and got shit done without a hiccup 🙌🏻 @reginedavid_ @lkoh22 @jmekinsella @willmoterlle @yvette_tenney @mynameisntgracie @peytonmarek @tildawine @richrdcontreras @gemnator

Thanks to @tywillyums for the beautiful flyer that made it across all of Instagram.

Thank you to @daniellegadams @sefmats for offering their time to capture the day.

And thanks to @prosciuttogirl69 @infatuation_la for an amazing write up and getting the word out.

We love everyone, thanks a million! Let’s keep up the work and awareness to help stop Asian hate!

Tiahui Pop Up @ Woon

Graphic promoting a food event

Tiahui Vol. 2 - Sunday, March 1st @ 2pm

We’re excited to be hosting Vol. 2 of ‘Tiahui’ - a series of pop ups by our beloved cook, Selena Lechuga.
~~~
Growing up, Selena would help her aunties in the kitchen who originated from Zacatecas, Mexico. Her food is directly inspired by those experiences and the dishes they would make together. For Vol. 2 of Tiahui, Selena will be offering Gorditas stuffed with a mix of ingredients - including chicharrones, chorizo, tinga (vegan options available), as well as a tres leches cake for dessert. Don’t miss it!
